MULTI-DAY EVENT CONTENT
MULTI-DAY EVENT.
DAILY CONTENT.
Turning a live, constantly moving event into an episodic content stream viewers can follow from day to day.
The Derby City Classic presents the same challenge as many tournaments, conferences, festivals, and conventions: the event never stops so production has to work around it. The recap format was built to capture what mattered without interrupting the experience taking place around the cameras.
Rather than treating the event as one finished highlight video, the coverage created a continuing story. Each day became its own deliverable while specialty competitions, vendors, and other stories could be developed into additional standalone pieces.
That model creates a flexible content layer around a major event—one that can operate alongside longer-form recording, interviews, feature content, and live broadcast production.

THE WORKFLOW
BUILT AROUND THE EVENT
Multi-day recap production depends on staying flexible. Coverage has to follow the schedule, react to what becomes important, and still create a consistent episode structure from one day to the next.
01
FOLLOW
Work around the live event schedule and identify the people, matches, moments, and stories worth following.
02
CAPTURE
Gather competition, atmosphere, interviews, vendor activity, and supporting detail without slowing the event down.
03
SHAPE
Turn a full day of activity into a concise episode with a clear beginning, middle, and reason to keep following the series.
04
DELIVER
Finish each recap as part of a repeatable publishing workflow while continuing production on the next day’s coverage.
ONE EVENT / MULTIPLE CONTENT LAYERS
MORE THAN THE RECAP
Daily recap content can function as the promotional and editorial layer around a much larger event production. The same event can also support complete long-form recordings and live broadcasts, giving organizers multiple ways to serve both the audience in the room and the audience following remotely.
DAILY RECAPS
Concise episodic edits that summarize the event, highlight stories, and give audiences a reason to follow each day.
LONG-FORM COVERAGE
Complete matches, interviews, panels, demonstrations, or feature content can be captured alongside the recap workflow.
LIVE BROADCASTS
Live multicamera coverage can serve the real-time audience while the recap team builds the edited story of the event around it.
