The Ideal Candidate:

You love the solitude of video editing, but also love being a part of a great team of creative minds. You’re consistently motivated to grow your arsenal of content creation skills and are always new ways to make content pop. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for producing unique video content for our clients, while always thinking of new ways to increase the company’s audience.
Lastly, the ideal candidate will be self-sufficient and forward-thinking to anticipate the company’s growing needs. 

The Work:

We’re a small company, so writing a job description is tough. Listed below are the main skills we’re looking for and duties to be performed, but as with most productions, we all fill in where needed.

• Transport, setup and operate production equipment. Import, sort, edit and color correct audio and video content.
• Collaborate with the team (our team, our client’s, or both) on the three main phases of each project – pre-production, production and post-production, as well as client success after delivery.
• Preferred – someone who is good at storytelling, copywriting, WordPress, audio editing and mixing, Apple motion/Adobe After Effects, Part 107 drone cert, basic graphic design skills, knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom.

Required Skills:

Technical Skills – Proficiency with digital video cameras (ENG, DSLR or Mirrorless) and how to use them, including but not limited to framing and composition, exposure, white balance, depth of field, frame rates, lighting and movement.
Experience editing with Final Cut Pro X – color correction & grading, multi-cam editing, etc. *Experience with Adobe Premier is acceptable, but must be able to adapt and begin using FCPX immediately.

Physical Skills – Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs by yourself or more with help when transporting, loading, unloading and setting up. Able to move with camera while recording and maintaining a stabile, useable image.

Soft Skills – Good judgement regarding when to make a change and when to move something up the line for approval.

Availability:

If you have the experience we’re looking for, you know that production doesn’t happen during normal business hours. We’re looking for someone to work 5 of the 7 days each week. This may mean that one week you’re in the office, editing Monday through Friday one week and the next, you’re filming Sunday, editing Monday, helping with scripts on Tuesday, off Wednesday, editing Thursday and Friday, off Saturday. The next week may look completely different.
